In recent years, Tossini has got involved in improving the environmental impact of its production process by implementing a series of steps aimed at saving energy and reducing atmospheric emission. These steps have resulted in the attainment of AUA certification for environmental authorisation.
An economiser has, in fact, been installed which re-uses the heat produced by the ovens to heat the water in the production process.
Several obsolete cold storage units have been replaced with new models which has led to significant savings in CO2 (about 41.7 tonnes/year less).
We have also installed an insulated cooling tunnel which has resulted in energy savings of 121,632 Kwh/year.
